The 39th Civil Engineer Squadron is responsible for constructing and maintaining real property on Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Congratulations to U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Derrick Thomas, 39th Security Forces Squadron vehicle control officer, for winning the permanent party Larger Than Life Award at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, July 31, 2018. Committing to the mission, Thomas managed approximately 100 vehicles, a task usually handled by a NCO, and also made sure all the vehicles had fire extinguishers and first-aid kits, reducing the risk of potential injury to 39th SFS members. Congratulations to U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Brandon Jackson, 414th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron aviation resource manager, for winning the deployed Larger Than Life Award. Jackson, deployed from Creech Air Force Base, Nev., created a new budget for his squadron, allowing the purchase of mission critical equipment. He also transferred tracking records from a paper to an online logging system, shortening the process to ensure all training requirements and emergency procedures were met.
