Mission: Provide ready, adaptive support to NATO Allied Land Command Headquarters and all associated personnel; Administer the Çiğli Air Base agreement through robust Host Nation engagement and strategic prioritization.

About the 425th ABS

The 425th Air Base Squadron is a Geographically Separated Unit, or GSU, of the 39th Air Base Wing, Incirlik AB, Türkiye.

Mission 

Performs as administrative agent and provides mission support for the NATO Allied Land Command Headquarters as well as six other associate units operating in Izmir, Türkiye.  Administers the annual $1‑million Çiğli AB Loan Agreement between the United States and Türkiye.

Organization 

The 425th ABS is composed of ten sections: Communications, Financial Management, Contracting, Logistics, Medical, Supply, Personnel, Postal, Security Forces, and Services.  The squadron also has five staff functions: Chapel, Legal, Public Affairs, Protocol, Airman and Family Readiness Center.  Contractors perform many of the functions of the squadron to include Civil Engineering, Safety, Travel Management, Housing, and Vehicle Operations.

The squadron executes all functions that would normally be accomplished at a wing.

Security Forces and Anti-terrorism provide resource protection and security to members and assets of the 425th Air Base Squadron and NATO.

Postal Services
Postal hours are: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m, and on Fridays from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The post office is closed on federal and Turkish holidays.

Housing
Housing is open Monday through Friday 0730 - 1630. All housing at Izmir is on the economy and the housing office assists service members with their search, contracts and loaner furniture.

Traffic Management Office (TMO)
TMO hours of operation are Monday - Friday 0730-1630.  We coordinate all Personal Property Shipments (HHG, UB), US Customs, Turkish Customs, Passenger Travel, Vehicle Operations & Maintenance, and Cargo.  We are available 24 hours for EMERGENCY purposes only.

Library
The community library is open five days a week, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.; 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Education Center

425th Air Base Squadron Education and Testing Center is open Monday through Friday 08:00 – 16:00.

Education Center provides CCAF counseling & advising, USAF Voluntary Education support such as school and degree search, AFVEC education records update, Military Tuition Assistance issuance, AF COOL, AU ABC,
GEM, Skill Bridge, Commissioning, VA Benefits and DANTES Programs info and guidance. Education Center also offers WAPS (Enlisted Promotion), AFOQT, DLPT, DLAB, ASVAB, AFCT, AFRAT, EDPT and other military exams.
 
University of Maryland Global Campus on base offers undergraduate face to face & online; and undergraduate + graduate online courses. The UMGC operated National Test Center offers CLEP, DSST college credit exams
and Pearson Vue Certification exams.
 
Education Center also supports Izmir’s Army NATO Soldiers’ voluntary education needs; as well as other GSUs’ Airmen, Soldiers & DoD Civilians assigned at Ankara 717th ABS & ODC; and Istanbul Det-4 USAFE Air Postal.


Military & Family Readiness Center
As part of the 425th Air Base Squadron at the Izmir Air Station, the Military & Family Readiness Centers incorporates Airman & Family Readiness, Army Community Service (ACS) and Fleet & Family Support providing a full range of programs and services to support mission readiness for those assigned to the Izmir area.

One of our major functions is linking service members and their families with the right resources to meet their specific needs on Izmir Air Station or with external resources. We offer a variety of training, workshops, and one-on-one consultations to support individuals, families, and leadership with programs that strengthen our communities, encourage self-sufficiency, enhance mission readiness and resiliency, and ease adaptation to the military way of life.

One-on-one consultations are available by appointment. briefings, group or unit training at alternate locations are available by request.

Services provided by the Military & Family Readiness are open to all branches of services, active duty, Reservists, National Guard, retirees, surviving spouses, their families, and DoD civilian employees unless otherwise stated.

Medical Information

Care at the Izmir Medical Aid Station is provided by two Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technicians (IDMTs). We are only authorized to see Active Duty service members. If your condition is chronic in nature or beyond the scope of the IDMT, you will be referred to a downtown specialist.
