    Being a U.S. Airman means being flexible, adaptable and innovative, but it also means caring about others and going above and beyond the call of duty. For U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jordan Walker and Airman 1st Class Valtrice Sullivan, 39th Security Forces Squadron contingency members, going above and beyond meant giving back to the local community.
  • 13.1 miles to celebrate 71 years

    Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, hosted a half marathon on Sept. 22, 2018, in celebration of the U.S. Air Force’s 71st birthday on Sept. 18. The marathon had over 60 participants that included U.S., Turkish and Spanish members, who completed a total of 13.1 miles. 
  • POW/MIA vigil ceremony

    The POW/MIA ceremony is held to honor those who cannot join their brothers and sisters in arms at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Sept. 20, 2018. The vigil lasted for 24 hours to honor and support their courageous struggle against the 24-hour hardship they faced as a POW/MIA.

    U.S. Air Force Airmen and Local Nationals gathered to learn about the Incirlik Library's new MakerBot Replicator 3-D printer and to celebrate the U.S. Air Force’s 71st Birthday and innovation.
  • United Through Reading initiative keeps families connected

    Being separated away from home can often be hard on service members, as well as the families. As a way to boost morale and keep families connected, the Incirlik Air Base Chapel recently began sponsoring the United Through Reading program at a newly renovated room in the Titans’ Refuge. This program allows service members to record themselves reading a book and send a copy of the recording and book to their family.
  • Airman strengthens flight through commitment to bodybuilding

    The physical presence of families and friends is often the backbone and support system Airmen rely on. However, the combination of an unaccompanied short tour, coupled with the fact Airmen cannot leave base, creates unique challenges where an Airman potentially has plenty of free time and is in need of a temporarily family.
