The family business: Father and son support each other while serving together at Incirlik
Master Sgt. Clifford Jackson III, 39th Air Base Wing command section superintendent, and his son Airman 1st Class Clifford Jackson IV, a materiel management technician assigned to the 39th Logistics Readiness Squadron, shares their experience serving together at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, June 14, 2022. The two Airmen continue a family tradition of military service that dates back to WWII. The father-son team provide each other with a sense of home while serving their short tours in Turkey. They meet at least once a week to share a meal and discuss a variety of issues related to personal and professional growth.

Third AF commander experiences 39th ABW mission, partnerships during visit to Incirlik AB
U.S. Air Force Col. Jason Gingrich, 39th Air Base Wing commander, welcomes U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Randall Reed, Third Air Force commander, at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Oct. 14, 2021. Reed traveled to Incirlik AB to meet with Airmen, learn about their skills and observe how they support Third AF, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, and U.S. European Command. Third Air Force issues directives to subordinate commands and takes action on behalf of the USAFE-AFAFRICA commander as directed. The command takes deliberate actions to develop Airmen and their families; confronts global challenges in support of the National Defense Strategy to defend our country and our allies; and utilizes dedicated efforts to deliver peace to our nation and its allies by fostering stability and deterring aggression throughout Europe and Africa. 93rd EARS supports Bright Star 21, fuels regional partner capacity
Three Egyptian air force F-16 Fighting Falcons fly in formation during Bright Star 21, over northern Egypt, Sept. 16, 2021. The 93rd EARS supported aerial refueling during Bright Star to both ensure participation from U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft assigned to the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing and provide training qualification opportunities for 12 Egyptian air force F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots. Bright Star 21 occurred from Sept. 2-16, 2021, and comprised three main events: a command post exercise, field training exercise and senior leader seminar. Bright Star builds on the strategic relationship between the U.S. and Egypt to support counterterrorism, contribute to regional security, and combat violent extremism. This is the 17th iteration of Exercise Bright Star Bright Star, a multi-lateral exercise hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt with support from U.S. Central Command, which aims to enhance regional security and promote interoperability throughout the full range of military operations. Since its inception in 1980 and as the oldest exercise for U.S. Central Command participation, Bright Star continues the proud and historic tradition of the United States, Egypt, and partner nations working together.
