39 SFS work with U.S. Army Black Hawks in K-9 Helo Training

Senior Airman Alec Ramirez, 39th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, performs tactical combat casualty care on a simulated dog during a joint K-9 helicopter training mission at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Sept. 13, 2021. During the mission, MWD handlers conducted medical evacuations on simulated K-9 casualties and other mission-specific tasks required for real-world operations. This interservice training with U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawks enabled them to acclimate their K-9s to helicopter operations under combat conditions. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Jacob Derry)
