Incirlik hosts National Suicide Awareness Month storyteller event

Col. John Kelley, 39th Air Base Wing vice commander, gives his opening remarks during a National Suicide Awareness Month brunch and storyteller event held at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, Sept. 8, 2021. Kelley expressed the importance of members connecting with each other to foster a resilient workplace and community. During the event, two Airmen shared their own personal struggles and stories of resilience and strength. The event provided Airmen in attendance the opportunity to ask questions of the panel during a Q&A segment of the event. September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, which encourages members to reach out to those affected by suicide, raise awareness about suicide prevention and connect with individuals to promote resilience.
