FDA at Incirlik

Mr. Terry Bolen of the Food and Drug Administration observes Airman 1st Class Katherine Ferguson, 39th Medical Support Squadron, set up a "phantom" breast tissue on a mammography machine during an inspection of the 39th Medical Group mammography department April 21. The "phantom" breast tissue has the consistency of real breast tissue with fibers, spectrobes and various masses of cancer inside. Once the image of the phantom tissue is taken, it must meet a minimum score to verify the machine is capable of detecting those masses in the phantom tissue.
