The Mosque of Muhammad Ali, regarded as the founder of modern Egypt, is visible from the outside walls of the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt. The Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located inside the Citadel of Cairo Egypt. The famous citadel was built between 1176 and 1183 A.D. to protect people and the territory from the Crusaders. The Mosque was built in 1830 and 1848 in memory of Tusun Pasha, Muhammad Ali’s oldest son.
