Congratulations to Capt. Jason Duren, 39th Medical Operations Squadron flight medicine physician assistant, for winning the permanent party Larger Than Life award. Duren took the initiative to investigate a method for obtaining the compliance report for patients on a continuous positive airway pressure machine in-house. Due to the change, patients are no longer referred to Landstuhl, Germany, and the Incirlik Medical Group saves money and man hours. “I’d like to thank my team for their support and help throughout the investigation,” said Duren. “They played a key role in the research and I wouldn’t have been able to complete it without their help.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Octavius Thompson)

Congratulations to Tech. Sgt. Steven Romero, 39th Security Forces Squadron NCO in charge of plans and programs, for winning the Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, permanent party Larger Than Life award. Romero spent his first few months on station as the flight chief but switched into plans and programs. This month, Romero finished the initial coordination on the Integrated Defense Plan which guides the base’s defense and other contingency response actions. He coordinated with twenty nine commanders and agency leads to collect their input on how to better defend our assets here at Incirlik. That plan enabled 1,400 personnel to generate 210 combat sorties and support 4,300 hours of recovery operations at other sites. “I would like to thank my supervisor for nominating me for the award,” said Romero. “I also want to thank everyone involved for helping me and the support of my leadership.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Octavius Thompson)
