The 39th Air Base Wing Safety Office wants everyone here and abroad to go green. Not bio-degradable, grass-fed beef green--green as in "safe and good to go."

The 39th ABW safety office is conducting a Green Ribbon campaign, a local concept, on personal risk management for the 101 Critical Days of Summer that started Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day.

"We want everyone to stay safe throughout the critical days of summer," said Master Sgt. Michael Asdel, 39th ABW ground safety manager. "Risk management starts with you."

"Safety is not one training class and a checklist," said Tech. Sgt. Fatimat Bello, 39th ABW safety NCO in-charge of investigations. "Safety is 24/7."

To inform the base on personal risk management, safety managers tied green ribbons for safety awareness to cars and bicycles around the base.

"The green ribbon is a visual reminder of safety and personal risk management. If we all do our part to begin with we can avoid any negative safety reports this year," explained Bello.

Air Force Instruction 90-802 Risk Management contains all the information needed and indorsed for the green ribbon safety campaign. Reference pamphlets are available at the safety office.
