5 FPCON level civilians, dependents should know

The Air Force uses five different force protection levels to inform service members, and their families, of security threats. FPCON levels are standard across the Air Force to ensure everyone takes the appropriate measures and remains safe.

Incirlik personnel and dependents should be aware and knowledgeable of FPCON levels for their safety. To better understand the FPCON levels, below is a detailed description of each warning and what it means.

1. FPCON Normal

A green FPCON Normal level sign will be posted on military building doorways.

When posted, no security concern is expected at the time, but personnel should always remain vigilant.

2. FPCON Alpha

An orange FPCON Alpha level sign will be posted on military building doorways.

Service members will be instructed to inform their family members of the circumstances leading to FPCON Alpha. Everyone should be alert to and report suspicious activities such as, unfamiliar personnel, vehicles, suspicious packages and possible surveillance attempts to security personnel. Findings of any of the above listings should be reported to security forces by calling 112.

3. FPCON Bravo

A blue FPCON Bravo level sign will be posted on military building doorways.

Family members should receive updates on the general situation leading up to FPCON Bravo from their spouses. During FPCON Bravo tune into the Commanders Access Channel for updates and information. No one should discuss the current FPCON level over social media, and just like in FPCON Alpha everyone should be alert and report suspicious activities, such as the presence of unfamiliar personnel, vehicles, suspicious packages and possible surveillance attempts to security personnel. Keep cars and objects, such as crates and trash containers, away from buildings to help security forces maintain a safe environment. It's also recommended to check home deliveries for any signs of tampering.

4. FPCON Charlie

A yellow FPCON Charlie level sign will be posted on military building doorways.

While in FPCON Charlie family member should receive updates on the general situation leading to FPCON Charlie from their spouse, and tune into the Commanders Access Channel for more information. Like all FPCON levels no one should discuss the current FPCON level on social media, and everyone should be alert and report suspicious activities, such as the presence of unfamiliar personnel, vehicles, suspicious packages and possible surveillance attempts to security personnel. Cars and objects, such as crates and trash containers, should be kept away from base facilities to aid security forces in maintaining a safe environment. Check home deliveries for any signs of tampering. At FPCON Charlie families should consider escorting children to and from school.

5. FPCON Delta

A red FPCON Delta level sign will be posted on military building doorways.

While in FPCON Delta, the most server FPCON level, movement on base is restrict to essential movement only. Service members and their families should limit their movement to absolutely necessary movement only until the FPCON level changes. Many services and facilities will be limited or closed in FPCON Delta. Service members will update their family to general situation leading to FPCON Delta and tune into the Commanders Access Channel for information and updates. Like all FPCON levels no one should discuss current FPCON level on social media. Everyone must be alert to and report suspicious activities, such as the presence of unfamiliar personnel, vehicles, suspicious packages and possible surveillance attempts to security personnel. Also, everyone should keep cars and objects, such as crates and trash containers, away from buildings to aid security forces in maintaining a safe environment. You should also check home deliveries for any signs of tampering. At FPCON Delta families should escort children to and from school.

In addition, updates and important information about FPCON levels can be found on the Commander's Access Channel during exercises and real-world emergencies so service members and families are advised to tune in for instructions.
