The life of an Airman at Incirlik is full of stressors. In addition to the normal rigors of an Air Force career, having to deal with legal issues back home--such as divorce, child custody, or financial problems--can make things seem extremely overwhelming.

But that's where your legal office can help! Not only do judge advocates offer in-person legal assistance, but also offer a variety of resources to help the servicemen and women of Incirlik address their legal concerns.

The Air Force's online Legal Assistance website provides an easy, anonymous way for Airmen to learn about legal issues. The site provides resources on issues commonly faced by service members, civilians, and their dependents--including family law, financial affairs, and immigration--and contains valuable information regarding military benefits, taxes, and estate planning. The website also serves as a virtual link between members and their local legal office. Members can use the site to access electronic worksheets for wills, advanced medical directives such as living wills, and powers of attorney.

For those who prefer printed material, the 39th Air Base Wing Legal Office has created numerous pamphlets discussing the most common legal issues faced by individuals here at Incirlik. These handouts are located on a stand outside the legal office, which is on the second floor of the 39th ABW headquarters building. If you cannot find information on the issue you are looking for, or if you have further questions, please contact, Ms. Stacy Kerns at DSN 676-6800, and she will schedule you an appointment with one of our judge advocates.

Finally, legal assistance is a primary mission of the Judge Advocate General Corps and our judge advocates are standing by to provide in-person consultations. The legal office now provides legal assistance five days a week. Scheduling an appointment is recommended, but we also assist walk-in clients on a space-available basis. Once assisted, members are highly encouraged to provide feedback on our legal assistance website to help us improve.

The most important thing to remember when confronted with a legal problem is that you are not alone. The legal office is here to help. Turn to us first and get back to the task at hand. Fly, fight, and win!
