INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --  "If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves."

Thomas Edison said that ... and yes, Team Incirlik astounds me! Your preparation for and support of the displaced American citizens from Lebanon has demonstrated the big heart of our small community.

You have clearly hosted our fellow American citizens with a little bit of home while they are so far from home and you ultimately expedited their onward movement back home. Wow!

Often we take our contributions for granted and sometimes we are fortunate to get the perspective of people unfamiliar with our day to day contributions. Our Boss, the USAFE Commander, is very proud of both ours and Ramstein's contribution to the mission of expediting the onward movement of our fellow citizens back home. We have clearly walked the talk of the "USAF Supports You." The U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and the entire Embassy team is literally bowled-over by your professionalism and can-do attitude. And our fellow citizens were absolutely thankful for your hospitality. You are all heroes and this one will remain part of my memory bank for the rest of my life.

You have exceeded what we are capable of doing and astounded the world. You should pause for just a moment and take stock of what you have achieved and the mission in which you played such a crucial role.

You have lived the USAFE vision of "Ensuring Freedom's Future."
