Pick of the 'Lik: SSgt John Thormann, 728th AMS Published Nov. 20, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Nicole Sikorski 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Staff Sgt. John Thormann, 728th Air Mobility Squadron Tunner 60k loader trainer, was awarded this week's "Pick of the 'Lik" Nov. 20, here. His two-week class covers book work, maintenance and safety criteria, followed by hands-on driving through an obstacle course. Under his leadership and guidance, trainees become proficient on this mission-critical equipment that makes up the backbone of the aerial port flight in the 728th AMS. Additionally, Thormann is an Air Transportation Standardization Evaluator. He has conducted approximately 40 command-performance evaluations and inspections this month, ensuring that the responsibility for safety and compliance falls on everyone from the individual Airman to the highest level in the chain of command. The 39th Air Base Wing leadership recognizes Airmen who are handpicked by their unit leadership for demonstrating outstanding leadership and job performance abilities.
