Stars and Stripes goes digital at Incirlik Published Nov. 21, 2013 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Incirlik Air Base will no longer receive printed editions of the "Stars and Stripes" after Nov. 29. The company had to discontinue paper editions at Incirlik AB due to the migrations of readers from print to digital platforms, reduction in revenue and reduced advertising spending resulting in significant financial constraints for the organization. "Stars and Stripes simply cannot continue to operate on a 'business as usual' footing," said Lt. Col. Jeffrey Myer, Europe and Expeditionary Stars and Stripes commander. " This is a decision we do not take lightly. We hope that the readers in the two communities will seek to access Stars and Stripes through our digital platforms for mobile devices as well as our website." "Stars and Stripes" is available online at www.stripes.com. "We do remain committed to providing service members with our unique military-focused content," Myer said. "We greatly appreciate the support that we have received and we look forward to continuing to serve them in the digital realm."
