Chanelle Wilburn, 39th Force Support Squadron NCO in charge of force management, climbed to the next enlisted rank of technical sergeant with a Stripes for Exceptional Performers promotion for her outstanding work and dedication. Deemed as an exceptional NCO by her supervision and leadership, Wilburn is known as being highly dedicated to the development and progression of Airmen at the 39th Air Base Wing. "The feeling is surreal," said Wilburn. "I never thought something like this would happen to little old me. I just worked hard and hoped that eventually it would pay off." Active in the community and an energetic member of the African American Heritage Council, Wilburn also serves as a leader and mentor for the local girl scout troop. According to her peers, the new technical sergeant is a highly sought after personnel expert, leader and professional. "Words cannot begin to describe how happy and proud I am that she was STEP promoted," said Master Sgt. Donna Anchundia, 39th Force Support Squadron force management superintendent. "She is an exceptional worker and consistently performs above her peers. She deserved this more than anyone I have ever worked with before in my career."
