Tech. Sgt. Alexander Puma, 39th Air Base Wing Legal Office NCO in charge of military justice, went above and beyond when he saw the need for an Airman's attic, here.

After more than 100 hours of preparation to make it happen, the Incirlik AB Airman's Attic will open its doors Feb. 18, at 3 p.m., at its temporary location, 2833B Mugla Court in Phantom housing.

The Airman's attic will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Puma, along with other Airmen from the 39th ABW, worked diligently to meet the needs of those in ranks E-6 and below, requiring items such as household goods on non-profit basis.

"I noticed there are not many resources to provide items to Airmen with limited financial means," said Puma. "A place they can receive products free of charge will be helpful, especially for new arrivals."

With hard work, Puma and others including Senior Master Sgt. Michael Becker, 39th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal flight chief, have left a footprint during their time here at the 'Lik that increased morale and quality of life for enlisted service members.

"The new Airman's Attic is filling a gap that existed in our wing's priority list, namely enhancing the quality of life for Airmen and their families," said Becker. "This initiative allows a zero-cost option for our base's junior enlisted members to fill some basic wants and needs, and allows other base members a chance to help out their teammates through donations of unwanted items."

There are plans that ranks above E-6 will be allowed to visit the Airman's attic.
Depending on the amount of donations received, the Airman's Attic will possibly be open one day a month where all ranks are welcome.

They will accept donations that can include clothing, furniture, baby apparel and any household goods that do not include car seats, undergarments or open food.

Volunteers are welcome to help out at the Airman's Attic until it is turned over to a private organization.
