Mrs. Patraeus advises on financial readiness

Holly Petraeus, head of the Office of Servicemember Affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, talked to Airmen about financial safety May 13, here.

The CFPB's main purpose is to educate consumers about corrupt financial practices in the consumer financial markets. The bureau also protects military families from predatory practices by financial institutions.

The CFPB  investigates complaints against credit card companies as well as mortgage and loan issuers.
