Incirlik champions UEI Published Nov. 24, 2014 By Staff Sgt. Eboni Reams 39th Air Base WIng Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- A United States Air Forces in Europe inspector general team visited Incirlik Air Base for a week-long unit effectiveness inspection of the 39th Air Base Wing processes and climate, here Nov. 17-21. Continuous unit self-inspections custom-made by the commander were completed year-round for two years, using Management Internal Control Toolset databases and other methods deemed useful to keep procedures up to standard. The USAFE inspection team then visited for the capstone inspection to observe how well 'Team Incirlik' has been policing each other and streamlining processes. "All of our respective units were outstanding," said Chief Master Sgt. Richard Bullock, 39th ABW acting command chief. "I'm really proud of the work being done by our wing and our personnel assigned. We were innovative, fit, focused and ready." Inclement weather of rain and lightning didn't stop the forward-stationed wing from fulfilling all requirements including being observed during an exercise for the inspection. The wing was recognized for 10 different strengths during the inspection. The 39th ABW Commander, Col. Craig Wills, is fond of saying "Confidence stems from a habit of success." This statement was embodied by Incirlik AB personnel who recently garnered highly effective ratings in 'leading people' and 'accomplishing the mission' categories. The 39th ABW was rated "Effective" overall by the USAFE IG team. "Most of what we do every day to support the mission will not be found on a checklist" Wills said. "Our job is to be combat ready every day, and that's exactly what we're doing. I appreciate all that our Airmen and families do every day to improve readiness, take care of our Airmen, and improve our wing." Wills addressed the crowd proudly during the UEI wrap-up, excited to continue the mission after a successful inspection. "Thanks for your hard work," Wills said. "Thanks for your dedication. I'm very proud to be on your team."
