Caleb Pierce 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Safety is not just another part of the job for two Airmen and a squadron here at Incirlik AB, it's part of who they are. Senior Master Sgt. Jason McLeod, 39th Air Base Wing Safety Office superintendent, Tech. Sgt. Aron Mueller, 39th Force Support Squadron NCO in charge of contingency lodging, and the 39th Communications Squadron took away three United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa safety awards. "It feels amazing to know that all the hard work the personnel of the 39th FSS do for safety is getting recognized," Mueller said. Hard work alone did not win the award but teamwork and dedication to safety from across the base. "I am lucky to be in a position to work with some of the best in the Air Force," McLeod said. "This award is a reflection of how well our team has performed over the past year. The efforts of maintenance, security forces, communications, civil engineer, operations support and force support squadrons along with the medical group and command post were key to our phenomenal capabilities inspection and that cannot be overstated." Not only did individuals achieve a safety award but also the 39th CS achieved this award as a squadron. "Winning this award is a great honor because it recognizes our Airmen's hard work and our drive towards safely conducting cyber operations," said Senior Master Sgt. Peter Franco, 39th CS Cyber Operations superintendent. "Most importantly, it was our 39th CS cyber warriors that made this award possible. It was their efforts that improved programs, and processes that significantly contributed to cyber safety to enable surety of the 39th Air Base Wing's communication systems."
