As 2014 becomes a distant memory for many Team Incirlik Hodjas, members of the 39th Medical Group are finding it hard to forget. At the end of last year, U. S. Air Forces in Europe announced that the 39th MDG was the recipient of nine 2014 USAFE awards.

"We were fortunate to have many award winners at the USAFE level this year - nine in total including both individual and team awards," said Col. Andrew Meadows, 39th MDG commander. "It takes a great team to accomplish anything of significance in this world, and the medical group team is very strong across the board."

According to Meadows, the recognition will result in an enhancement to already stellar medical services at Incirlik.

"All this positive momentum results in better care and service to our patients and customers," he said.

According to Tech. Sgt. Luis Guillen-Diaz, 39th Medical Operations Squadron mental health flight chief, his award not only a reflection of his accomplishments, but also the outstanding work of his peers.

"It means a great deal because I know my fellow mental health peers are doing outstanding things all over the world," Guillen-Diaz said. "So, to be selected for this award is truly a great honor and evidence that individual accomplishments are not achieved alone."

All winners will move on to compete in the Air Force-level awards, which will be announced in early 2015.

"I am extremely proud of all our nominees and winners and I look forward to healthy competition and good results at the Air Force-level," Meadows said.
