CPTS brings home USAFE/FM awards Published Jan. 8, 2015 By Senior Airman Krystal Ardrey 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Airmen of the 39th Comptroller Squadron do more than ensure that members of Team Incirlik are paid correctly each month. These Airmen are also in charge of developing, managing and overseeing all base-level accounting, budgeting and cashier operations. Three individuals from the 39th CPTS were selected to compete at the Air Force-level for various U.S. Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa Financial Management annual awards they received recently. Senior Master Sgt. Angela Stout was selected as the recipient of the Chief Master Sgt. Larry P. Gonzales Superintendent of the Year award; Master Sgt. Gregory Proffitt was named the USAFE Financial Management Senior NCO of the Year; and Cheryl Jackson received the Financial Management Civilian of the Year, Category I award. "This is an amazing squadron. We are small and we have a huge mission that outweighs our manpower, but our people work hard," said Stout. "We have accomplished great things because of it." Stout, the 39th CPTS and 39th Air Base Wing Staff Agencies superintendant, mentored 26 Airmen and civilians through a $144 million budget execution, directed an overhaul to the government travel card program and reinvigorated her group training program. Proffitt, 39th CPTS financial services flight chief, led disbursing operation at six sites across Turkey and established a shutdown contingency plan that was used across USAFE. Jackson, 39th CPTS administrative assistant, has dedicated 18 months to the finance office and in that time she has tracked 90 CPTS additional duties, streamlined evaluation management system routing and recall procedures and established over 60 enlisted personal information files. "I think we work great as a team and we take care of each other," said Jackson. "I always want to do my best. I have a fantastic supervisor and leadership that have guided me to improve and succeed and I am so thankful for that." Stout, Proffitt and Jackson will compete alongside nine other USAFE winners during the Air Force-level awards. "I'm very proud of all of our winners, even though they were individual awards; they were all a team effort. None of our winners could have won without their teams to support them." said Maj. Mishaun Smith, 39th Comptroller Squadron commander. "I feel like these are all comptroller wins and my people are doing excellent work and doing it every day. These are the moments we can really put it out there and acknowledge that." Congratulations to our award winners!
