39th MDG named best clinic in Air Force Published Feb. 23, 2015 By Senior Airman Michael Battles 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Within the military, each group, unit and office follows a vision statement set forth by their leadership. Members of the 39th Medical Group strive to achieve their leadership's vision statement, "the best medical clinic in the Air Force," each day through the service they provide to their patients. The 39th MDG recently achieved that vision by winning the Air Force's 2014 Surgeon General Award for Best Clinic of the Year. "The MDG won this award because of great leadership at all levels," said Chief Master Sgt. Willard Armagost, 39th MDG superintendent. "The leaders in the MDG started with clear goals and ensured everyone worked together in accomplishing them. Our medics worked extremely hard in achieving these goals and are worthy of such recognition." Furthermore, Armagost said that with leadership, numerous contributions from throughout the clinic are the reason for the award. "Many things go into winning awards such as hard work, dedication and our commander's vision of being the best clinic in the Air Force," Armagost said. "We also work extremely hard at developing relationships with our local national workforce and host nation partners. These relationships are important and have a huge role in our success." According to Col. Andrew Meadows, 39th MDG commander, the award wouldn't have been possible without the men and women of the 39th MDG. "I would like to thank everyone for the making it a priority to take care of the population of the 39th Air Base Wing and its NATO allies," he said. "I must thank the 39th MDG medics for their high level of professionalism to include our host nation civilian workforce." Meadows also explained, along with Airmen of the 39th MDG, the win has a lot to do with the priorities laid out by 39th ABW leadership. "We won this award because wing leadership provided us with priorities to set our path," Meadows said. "We followed through on the priorities across the board partnering with other organizations throughout the wing." Meadows went on to say that even though the 39th MDG has reached the pinnacle of medical service awards, the clinic will strive to better their performance in 2015. "All Hodja medics are privileged to contribute to the mission of the world's most powerful Air Force, our great nation and this great installation," Meadows said. "The 39th Medical Group will never lose sight that our work is of immeasurable value to this base, our customers, and our patients' quality and quantity of life." Additionally, Meadows stated that his goal is to continue the all-star reputation of the 39th MDG. "Everyone places a great deal of trust in our knowledge, professionalism, and expertise," he said. "We must always conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of this trust. My goal for the 39th Medical Group is to maintain the trust and confidence of every person and each unit on this base."
