Incirlik mourns death of 728th AMS Airman

INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --  An Airman from Incirlik Air Base died while on leave, visiting family in Round Rock, Texas, Feb. 28.

Staff Sergeant Nicholas Santandrea, 26, was a passenger service supervisor assigned to 728th Air Mobility Squadron, a tenant unit of the 39th Air Base Wing.

A remembrance ceremony for Santandrea is scheduled for March 4 at 4:30 p.m. at Incirlik's passenger terminal pavilion.

"The entire Incirlik community mourns the tragic loss of Sergeant  Santandrea," said Col. Craig Wills, 39th Air Base Wing commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow Airmen during this difficult time."

The cause of death is currently under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
