39th MDG welcomes new commander

INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Col. Bruce "Pete" Peters assumed command of the 39th Medical Group during an assumption of command ceremony here, June 9.

Prior to assuming command, Peters was the chief of Medical Support Division and command administrator at the Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.

An assumption of command ceremony is a tradition that represents a formal acceptance of authority and responsibility by the incoming commander.
