Photography, video guidelines for IAB Published July 17, 2015 By Senior Airman Michael Battles 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- As part of the ongoing commitment to the relationship between the U.S. and Turkish air force, all members of Team Incirlik are subject to set regulations regarding photographing and recording video while on Incirlik Air Base. All Incirlik AB personnel are encouraged to take photos and videos of base events, personal gatherings and in their work centers, as long as the location doesn't involve TURAF assets and personnel. It's recommended that individuals evaluate a location before taking a photo, as a TURAF asset could be in the background. According to the regulation, any photography or filming of TURAF assets including the flight line, buildings, gates and personnel is unauthorized unless prior coordination has been approved. All requests to document TURAF assets must be approved by the 10th Tanker Base Operations Command. Individuals found taking imagery of TURAF assets could be subject to Turkish law, which could include confinement of up to six months or a fine from five to twenty thousand Turkish Lira. For official events, individuals should request a base photography letter or a photographer from the 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs office. Requests should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event to allow sufficient time for coordination and approval. For more information about base photography or filming, contact the 39th ABW Public Affairs Office at 39abw.pa@us.af.mil or 676-6060. (Senior Airman Krystal Ardrey contributed to this article)
