Col. John Walker, 39th Air Base Wing commander hosted two town hall meetings Nov. 3, 2015, here.

Topics of discussion included the following:

· Authorized Voluntary Departure: The AVD has been extended for an additional thirty days. The new departure window is scheduled for close Dec. 2. For more detailed information, click here. For families looking to depart with pets, it's important to know that pets slots are limited on the rotator due to space availability.

Additionally, flying pets on organic (gray tail) flights is prohibited due to safety restrictions and guidelines. Organic airlift does not offer the proper climate control and pressurization requirements needed to safely and humanely transport domestic animals.

· Patriot Village: The 39th Force Support Squadron is making renovations to the PV lodging and will open a satellite dining facility for the residents in the near future. This dining facility will minimize wait times at the Sultan's Inn dining facility and assist with enhancing the quality of life for the military members deployed to Incirlik AB.

· Community Standards: A new guideline for the base on base community standards is currently being reviewed and updated to better address pedestrian, motorcycle/moped, bicycle and vehicle safety. Once the updates are complete, it will be released to the base populace. In the meantime, here are a few safety rules to keep in mind:

- Bicycles must have a white light on the front and a red light or reflector on the rear of bicycle.

- Helmets must be ANSI, CPSC, or SNELL approved and the buckle on the chin strap should be connected at all times.

- Personnel cannot wear headphones while on a roadway, crosswalk or in parking lots.

- While in uniform, jogging, or walking during hours of darkness or decreased visibility, personnel should wear reflective or high visibility outer garment.

- Adhere to all mopeds or motorcycle manufacturers' guidance concerning passengers. For example, there have been many cases of young children being put in front of the driver; this is contrary to manufacturer's guidance.

- All drivers must have IMT 181 in vehicle at all times.

- Texting or talking on phones while driving is prohibited.

· Travel Restrictions and Safety: As a reminder, 39th ABW members are governed by the EUCOM Enhanced Travel Restriction Order. Please remain vigilant during travel and consult the required agencies such as OSI and AT/FP for briefings prior to travel. If you are unsure of the travel restrictions in place, contact your key spouse or supervisor.

· USO Tours: The base hosts a monthly USO tour for the benefit of the military members and families stationed here.

· Rumor of NEO in February: At this time, there is no news of a planned Non-Combatant Evacuation Order or Ordered Departure at all. As a reminder, military members and families should not speculate and are advised to contact their unit NEO representative or supervisor for more details.

· Meat at the Commissary: The Defense Commissary Agency's number one goal is to provide the military community with a great shopping experience. Some products are currently under recall and the shipping process takes an average ten days to arrive at the commissary here.

· Patriot Express to Aviano Air Base:   Space available passenger travel from Incirlik Air Base to Aviano AB is now available. Additional documents are required for entry, read the following article for more details here.

·  TTNET Internet: The delays for internet and telephone set-up, install and activation are being addressed by the 39th Communications Squadron leadership. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. John Price at 676-6141.

· Care packages for deployed members: Please contact your First Sergeant or Key Spouse for more information on donating care packages for deployed military members.
