Bolfing 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Türkiye -- Polish Military Contingent members, U.S. Airmen, Turkish air force personnel and distinguished guests participate in a Polish Armed Forces Day ceremony at Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye, Aug. 14, 2026. The ceremony recognized the service, dedication and contributions of Polish military personnel while bringing together members of the Allied community at Incirlik AB. Polish Armed Forces Day, known as Święto Wojska Polskiego, is observed annually on Aug. 15 to honor Poland’s service members and commemorate the Polish victory in the 1920 Battle of Warsaw during the Polish-Soviet War. The victory played a significant role in preserving Poland’s independence and remains an important part of the nation’s military heritage. Polish Armed Forces personnel at Incirlik AB serve alongside U.S., Turkish and other Allied forces, strengthening multinational cooperation and interoperability. Their continued presence reflects the shared commitment of NATO Allies to collective defense, regional security and the enduring strength of the Alliance.
