Incirlik tests aircraft arresting system Published June 18, 2026 By Senior Airman Victoria Nuzzi 39th Air Base Wing INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Türkiye -- A Turkish F4 Phantom tested the capabilities of the aircraft arresting system during a biannual certification that is required to ensure the capability and effectiveness of the barrier in the case of emergency landings at Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye, June 11, 2026. The test is a joint effort requiring support from the 39th Civil Engineering Squadron for fire protection services and the 39th Operations Support Squadron to coordinate planning the test between NATO partners. The test was successful and ensured the safety of personnel who use the flightline.
