The completion of this project ensures Incirlik AB can continue supporting mission-critical aircraft operations and long-term readiness. During the ceremony, U.S. Air Force Col. Mike Esposito, 39th Air Base Wing commander, cut the ribbon to officially open the hangar. He was joined by leadership from the Mission Support and Weapons System Security Groups, as well as the Civil Engineer and Maintenance Squadrons. The 39th CES worked closely with Air Force Civil Engineer Center for oversight and design to ensure the safety, sustainability, and efficiency of the new infrastructure. Key upgrades include reinforced hangar doors, automatic exhaust fans, improved fire suppression systems, and two fully equipped supply areas. New mechanical hoists were also installed to significantly accelerate aircraft maintenance. Additionally, upstairs observation rooms were added on both sides of the hangar, allowing leadership to oversee operations while providing a dedicated break area for personnel. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the successful completion of the $4.1M renovation project, representing a major milestone in enhancing Incirlik AB’s capabilities and ongoing operational readiness.
