Incirlik Air Base Welcomes New Group and Squadron Commanders Published June 27, 2023 By SSgt Alexandria Lee Incirlik Air Base, Turkey -- INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Türkiye -- Titans stationed at Incirlik Air Base Türkiye will welcome 18 new commanders during change of command ceremonies across the installation from May to August. The change of command ceremony is a long-standing military tradition representing a formal transfer of responsibility from the outgoing commander to the incoming, during which the responsibility for and authority over the unit is symbolically relinquished. Incirlik’s newest commanders are charged with leading a ready, reliable and responsive force to project global power through strategic deterrence, agile combat support, and enduring partnerships. Leadership at all levels work as a cohesive team to protect the interests of the U.S. and our allies along NATO’s southern flank and provide a responsive staging and operational air base ready to project integrated, forward-based air power.
