A 10-year-old family member and Department of Defense Dependant School's teacher were awarded two prizes given away as part of the United States Air Forces in Europe Birthday Bash and U.S. Air Force Services Extreme Summer programs.

Col. Jeffrey Hanson, 39th Mission Support Group commander, presented Jessica Sowder with one of the grand prizes from the U.S. Air Force Extreme Summer program -- an all-expense paid trip for herself and three family members to one of the Disney properties, rental car, and four-day park hopper passes. The trip comes complete with airplane tickets and hotel accommodations. Jessica's win was one of only four distributed Air Force wide. She is the daughter of Tech. Sgt. Cliff Sowder, 39th Security Forces Squadron, and Michelle Sowder, Incirlik Document Automation and Production Service journeyman.

"I saved more than 3,700 points," said Jessica. "Mostly by bowling and playing golf with my family."

A few moments later, Colonel Hanson awarded Glen Garner, an Incirlik teacher for more than two years, the USAFE Services and Exchange New Car Sales' Air Force's 59th Birthday present -- a 2006 Jeep Rubicon. Mr. Garner's entry was mailed in along with thousands of others from throughout USAFE.

Mr. Garner and his wife, Laurie, Incirlik High School administrative assistant, have been an active part of the Air Force for years. Their daughter, Capt. Andrea Seher Judkins, and son-in-law, Capt. Andrew Judkins, are both C-130 Hercules pilots stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. But they were still surprised to have won the USAFE prize, they said.

"It is a very lucky day for Incirlik," said Colonel Hanson after he presented the gifts to the astonished-looking winners.
