With more than 2,000 organizations to choose from, this year's Combined Federal Campaign offers you, your family and your military coworkers an opportunity to give, and receive, in times of need.

Since the CFC kick off Oct. 2, more than 400 Incirlik, Eskasir, Ankara and Izmir community members have donated $77,816. Those numbers measure up to almost half of what community members donated during the 2005 campaign which was successful in raising more than $150,000.

"I'm continually humbled by the generosity of our young donators," said Master Sgt. Susanne Herbert, 39th Air Base Wing CFC liaison. "When I sit down and look at the numbers I'm impressed over and over with what people are willing to do for their community."

By Tuesday Incirlik had come close to meeting one of the wing's stated goals of 100 percent meaningful contact. Sergeant Herbert said CFC liaisons are determined to spend time with each and every military member to explain the campaign program and how to participate.

The CFC 2006 Contributor Brochure explains that CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the Federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations and continues to be the largest and most successful workplace fundraising model in the world.

"More than $6,000 was plowed back into the Incirlik community as a result of contributions to Family Support and Youth Program charities during the 2005 campaign," Sergeant Herbert said.

In an attempt to focus all efforts on CFC, from now through Dec. 15 when the campaign ends, no other fundraising events are authorized on military installations. However, the opportunity to have a car wash, bake sale, dinner party or any number of activities in support of CFC are welcome and can be planned after proper coordination with the 39th Services Squadron.

You can keep track of Incirlik's progress throughout the 2006 campaign by watching the base thermometer near the Official Document Center. If you are interested in more information about the CFC and how to donate, contact your first sergeant or call Sergeant Herbert at 676-6856.
