People First…Service Always Published Oct. 27, 2006 By 1st Lt. Rose Richeson 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The men and women of the 39th Services Squadron are committed to their motto, "People First ... Service Always," as they prepare to face one of their biggest evaluations of the year, the Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe Eubank and Food Excellence Evaluations. The evaluations will ultimately recognize the USAFE nominees for Best Small Services Squadron and Best Dining Facility. The nominees will then compete against all major command representatives at the Air Force level for the Maj. Gen. Eugene L. Eubank and John L. Hennessy Awards. With five flights and 20 facilities employing more than 300 people, the squadron has won the Air Force level Eubank honors in the past for 2002 and 2003, and the USAFE-level Eubank honors in 2005. The Sultan's Inn Dining Facility was most recently recognized in 2005 as the USAFE-level winner. The competition for the Eubank Award will judge small wing services squadrons in customer satisfaction/focus, leadership, facilities and programs. Incirlik will be competing in the single category for food services due to maintaining one facility on the installation. Evaluators and advisors for the food services portion are tasked to conduct a fair, thorough evaluation and select the best food service program in USAFE. They will be using the Food Service Customer Survey to score the Customer Feedback Program review. The USAFE Evaluation Team will evaluate 39th SVS from Monday to Wednesday and the Sultan's Inn will be evaluated Thursday and Friday. The Eubank evaluation kicks off with an in-brief at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 30 at After Six in the Bowling Center. Col. "Tip" Stinnette, 39th Air Base Wing commander, will open the in-brief with his 39th ABW mission briefing followed by comments from Lt. Col. Dale Bruner, 39th SVS commander, and a 39th SVS brief. The Food Excellence evaluation in-brief is scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 2 at After Six in the Bowling Center. "Our Sultan's Inn customers are encouraged to provide feedback to the two-person evaluation team during their visit," said Andrew Pastula, 39th SVS dining facility manager. Likewise, Colonel Bruner urges base members to attend events scheduled during the visit "to help demonstrate our spirit and support to all Team Incirlik programs." Base's chosen at the MAJCOM level to compete at the Air Force level will receive money to further improve programs and customer service.
