The squeak of basketball sneakers fill the gym, as sweat pours off the exhausted players. Just 20 more free throws are all that is needed to end practice. Basketball season is in full swing for the players of the Incirlik men's varsity basketball team.

"We have the talent," said Darryl Campbell, team coach. "We just needed to see how the talent works together."

The team has been practicing since September and has already played two games with Turkish nationals. The coaches and the players were able to learn a lot the past couple of weeks and during the two games.

"We were able to see the skill level and talent of our players and to see where we need to develop our game," said Jerome Latimer, assistant coach.

The base varsity team will have another chance to test their team chemistry Nov. 24. when they play a Turkish national team at the Cukurova University in Adana.

"People who come watch the game can expect to see a lot of skill and a lot of great coaching on both sides," said Campbell. "Just come out and support a great team in the making."

Base members who wish to go to the game should meet at the sports and fitness center at 4 p.m. for a ride.

"Our past season record wasn't that good, but let me assure you, this team is taking the championship," said Campbell.
