Oshawn Jefferson 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The Tip of the Sword has gotten a facelift and now the Incirlik community gets news at their finger tips. At first glance the Incirlik Now Web site can seem a bit busy and overwhelming, but with this simple guide seeing "Our News, Our Stories, Today" is as easy as clicking a button. Since the Web site is a public site, this guide can assist your mother who is sitting in North Carolina, your spouse who is sitting at home or you with navigating through the Internet world of Incirlik. First let us look at the Home page starting from left to right: (Left) Under the tab marked "News" you can find all of the most up to date news stories. The top 10 Incirlik news stories are always on the front page. People can get to the archive and search for older stories or click the " More News" link. Under the tabs marked "USAFE Headlines" and "AF Headlines" you can find the most up-to-date news stories from around the United States Air Forces in Europe and the Air Force. (Center) In the center column starting at the top you see a tab that says "Current Newsletter." Under this tab you can click and see the most recent edition of Incirlik Express. By clicking the "TOS/Express Archive" link you can access the Tip of the Sword newspaper all the way back to 2004. Under the tab marked "Commentaries" you can see the concerns, opinions and well wishes from senior leaders across the Air Force to the lowest ranking Airman on Incirlik. Under the "AFN Incirlik" tab, by clicking on the picture you can find the current week's episodes of the Incirlik Nightly News, the local radio news programming schedule, a link to MyAFN and news specials. Under the "Power of Presence" tab people can find photos of Airmen receiving unit-level awards, step promotions, completion of training, deployments, leadership visits, and other events to share with family and friends. The "Latest Videos" tab links you to video news stories from across the Air Force. Just a click of the play button and a minute to buffer will keep you in the know for what going on around the service. Under the "Other Links" tab people have direct links to Air Force Fact Sheets, Air Force Link, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Biographies of Air Force leaders, Defense Commissary Agency, U.S. European Command, Department of Defense, Forms and Publications, Stars and Stripes, U.S. Air Force Freedom of Information Act, U.S. Air Forces Europe and other U.S. Air Force sites. (Right) Under the "Search" tab you can use any key words to locate a specific news article posted on the Incirlik Now Web site. Looking at the "Featured Links" tab you can link to the "SOURCE" (which is only available from a government computer), our Mission, our Leadership, our Freedom of Information and the latest happenings from Incirlik American School. Under the "Commander's Corner" and "Chief's Corner" tabs you can read the latest and greatest views from Colonel "Tip" Stinnette, 39th Air Base Wing commander, Colonel Ken Stefanek, 39th ABW vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jeffrey A. Antwine, 39th ABW command chief. Under the "Ask Mehmet" tab you can find the answers to many Ask Mehmet questions about Turkey and its rich culture. By clicking on Mehmet's photo people can get their own questions answered by the Incirlik Turkish culture icon by e-mailing him direct. Clicking the tile under the "Incirlik Heroes" tab will let you see some of Incirlik's Heroes. From the Warrior and Student of the Week to Awards won by Incirlik team members throughout the year. Click here to visit the page.Under the "Public Affairs Office" tab people can e-mail the PA office with their comments, and suggestions to improve our products. By clicking the tile under the "Incirlik AFSO 21" tab people can see the smart ops accomplishments of the men and women of the 39th Air Base Wing. Click here to visit the page. Under the "Action Lines" tab you'll get all the latest burning questions and answers from some of Incirlik's most curious members, as well as, any questions answered in the past. Where you can choose from the News archive categories on the right to include Ask Mehmet, Action Lines, Commander commentaries, Vice Commander commentaries, Command Chief commentaries, Snuffy McDufflebag, Incirlik AFSO 21, All Commentaries, News, Features, Incirlik Sports and Incirlik American School. Photos - People can see all the photos from throughout the Incirlik Community. Art - Under this link people can see all Incirlik related art work to include USAFE, 3rd Air Force, 39th Air Base Wing and all squadron patches. Library - In the library people can find information on Incirlik's leaders and letters from the Secretary of the Air Fore, Air Force Chief of Staff, the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force and other senior leaders. Units - Clicking this link gives you access to fact sheets about Incirlik units to include geographically separated units. Questions - All the frequently asked questions are answered on this page. Join - If someone wanted to join the Air Force this link can get you started with the service "no one comes close" too.
