The 39th Services Squadron family member programs flight, which includes youth programs and family child care, received word in December that it passed its annual inspection with flying colors, giving it the green light to continue providing programs and care through 2007.

Tonyai Jones, Child Development Center director, said, the unannounced inspection, which lasted from November 1 to 3 covered everything from safety to curriculum.

"The inspection checklist is comprised of 12 sections covering more than 140 checklist items to include physical environment, fire protection, curriculum, staffing, staff qualifications, nutrition and food service, administration, funding, evaluation, child abuse protection, parent involvement and staff-parent interaction, safety, health, and relationships," she said.

The flight performed exceptionally well scoring in the 90 percentile.

"As with any accomplishment, we are very excited about this year's inspection," said Ms. Jones. "This gives the community a better understanding of what the FMP provides - quality care."

Ms. Jones said the inspection would not have been such a success without the help of others on base.

"I would be remised if I did not thank leadership - Lt. Col. Bruner, Vic Hayes and Yvonne Haskins," she said. "Also, the staff and parents of FMP and all of the agencies that support our programs deserve credit."
