Services plays such an important roll on base that if you were to look through its eyes you would see that services has their hand in a lot more than you probably thought.

If you think about it the 39th Services Squadron plays a part in the majority of base activities. I mean, you, your kids, your pets, your car even your clothes might use some of Services' facilities.

"The military profession can dramatically interrupt family life. This is where we lend support. Incirlik youth spend quality time with our professional staff that truly care and are vested in realizing the full potential of each young person," said Vicky Haskins, Family Member Program flight chief. "We support children and their parents. Our many programs target children from birth through high school. We touch their lives meeting their physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Our goal is to nurture and enrich young lives by giving opportunities for personal growth and achievements. Our 2005 Youth of the Year winner is now at the Air Force Academy. We are really proud of him."

Whether it's weekend trips through outdoor recreation, a little rest and relaxation out at the golf course, relieving stress at the massage clinic or just meeting some friends at the base bowling center, the services squadron here takes pride in it what it offers.

"Recreation and leisure travel is a high priority for personnel at Incirlik and we realize that," said Luis Hernandez, Community Support Flight chief. "Whether it's hiking, biking, swimming, paintball stamping or crafting, from local tours to international travel the 39th Services Squadron specializes in making it happen. Our goal is to take your minds off work and enhance quality of life opportunities through recreation. Come have some fun with us!"

Services doesn't just provide fun and games though, they make sure we have everything from food in our bellies to after-school activities for the Incirlik youth.

"Services touches the lives of everyone at every installation in one way or another," said Jude Sorg, 39th Services Squadron deputy commander. "Providing outlets to dine, recreate and care for your families is just the tip of the spear, but a vital part of our mission to keep you and your family mentally and physically ready to perform your mission."

So the next time you are participating in intramural sports, grabbing a burger at the Sultan's Inn or dropping your kid off at the Youth Center, remember that without services none of this would be possible.

"Without the members of our first-class services squadron, which when you think about it, includes everyone on this installation, the events and programs we enjoy wouldn't be offered," said Col. "Tip" Stinnette, 39th Air Base Wing commander. "I take my hat off to everyone on this installation for their dedication in making Incirlik a nicer place to live."
