Dr. James Reginald Jackson from Decatur, Ala., returns for a third year to work with the base's choirs. Dr. Jackson will be joined this year by Allysia Cleveland, from RAF Lakenheath, U.K., who will lead a liturgical dance workshop. The music workshop will be May 8 to11 with the children's choir meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. and the adult choir meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event will culminate with a combined concert May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chapel. "This is a great activity for the entire base community," said Jaye Ingram, 39th Service Squadron school-age program assistant. "Dr. Jackson is a musician, an arranger and a composer. He really is a musician's musician." In addition to the choir workshop, this year's conference incorporates a liturgical dance workshop running from May 7 to 11. The children's dance workshop will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., followed by the teens from 5 to 6 p.m. and adults from 7 to 8:30 p.m. All dance activities will be at the Community Center. "Liturgical dance is a growing area within worship services," said Mr. Ingram. "(Both workshops) will give participants a deeper understanding of how to utilize their talents and gifts." Both workshops are free and open to the entire Incirlik community. "It's a great family experience," said Takeisha Jefferson. "(Last year) I was able to participate with my husband and children. People from all chapel services participated. We were like one big family."
