39th Air Base Wing welcomes Inspection Teams Published June 7, 2007 By Lt. Col. Ender Ozgul 39th Medical Group Dental Division commander INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Its playoff time and the members of Team Incirlik are ready to show their metal to the Air Force Inspection Agency, Health Services Inspection and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. "A team of 10 inspectors from Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. and three civilian inspectors, headed by the HSI Team Chief, Colonel Gary Forthman, are expected to arrive Saturday and Tuesday," said Terri Gillespie, 39th Medical Group director of performance quality and risk management. The inspection begins Monday and ultimately certifies the 39th Medical Group to provide care to the community. The HSI team performs inspections of all active duty, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard medical units worldwide in partnership with the AAAHC team. They will assess the ability of medical units to fulfill their peacetime and wartime missions, to include evaluation of medical care and the support of the wing's mission. The inspectors will look at a variety of programs and clinical issues which relate to safety and quality of care. "Medical group and wing personnel are ready for our HSI and AAAHC inspection," said Maj. Kay Colclasure, 39th MDG chief of medical operations. The Medical group has had a huge amount of support from the wing and they in turn will continue to take care of the wing. "We've had an incredible response from members of Team Incirlik to help facilitate the process of preparing for the inspection," said Major Colclasure. "Medical group personnel have done an awesome job of having wing personnel mission ready, while at the same time taking care of family members." With everyone's hard work and involvement, the wing is ready for the upcoming inspection. "Our self-inspection process has helped prepare us for the upcoming visit," said Tech. Sgt. Leonardo Garza 39th MDG resource management office. "We are ready, thanks to everyone's hard work; we are definitely good to go." "I am happy with the hard work members have done while getting ready for this inspection," said Lt. Col. Jeanine Czech 39th MDG chief of aerospace medicine. "We are ready to show our stuff," said Dr. Scott Green, 39th MDG chief of the medical staff, as he prepares for his first experience with the inspection teams. "Team Incirlik and the 39th Medical Group take this inspection very seriously; as it will certify as to continue delivering first rate health care to the Incirlik Community," said Col Kimberly Cox, 39th MDG commander. "And to echo Dr. Green, I cannot wait to show off the 39th Medical Group ... simply the best medics ensuring Team Incirlik is fit to fight. We are totally dedicated to ensuring that active duty members are medically and mentally prepared for the mission and their family members receive quality health care 24/7 as well. It takes a team optimally developed, postured to respond, and focused on health care support to provide full-spectrum health care services to our expeditionary forces and our myriad beneficiary population in Turkey. We will do it here or get them there to provide top-quality health care." Welcome Colonel Forthman, Dr. Bowen and the entire HSI and AAAHC teams. You will experience the best Wing in the Air Force!
