HSI results attest to excellence in all we do Published June 14, 2007 By Capt. Rose Richeson 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The 39th Air Base Wing and the Medical Group has mastered the victory dance and can finally take a deep breath after receiving their second "Excellent" rating on an Air Force inspection in just over two months. "We did this as a team and wouldn't have accomplished such success without all of our military members, dependents, Department of Defense civilians, contractors and associate units," said Col. Kimberly Cox, 39th Medical Group commander. "You are simply the best." The 2007 Health Services and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Inspections began June 4 and upon completion, the Health Services Team considered the 39th MDG successful in providing health care to the Incirlik community. The AAAHC report is expected within 45 days, which should reflect a three-year accreditation for the 39th MDG. "The AAAHC is most concerned about safety and the quality of care you provide," said Dr. Dale Bowen, AAAHC Inspection team chief. "We're here to gauge just how well you do what you do." More than 180 Team Incirlik members packed into the 39th MDG inner courtyard June 8 eagerly awaiting the inspector's assessment of their ability to fulfill peacetime and wartime missions. The inspection focused on four major categories and 17 areas including evaluation of medical care and support to the wing's mission. Inspectors observed a variety of programs and clinical issues especially those related to safety and quality of care. "I am happy with the hard work members have done while getting ready for this inspection," said Lt. Col. Jeanine Czech, 39th MDG Aerospace Medicine chief. "This wing is fully committed to maximizing base readiness and you are all superstars," said Col. "Tip" Stinnette, 39th ABW commander. "I am so thoroughly proud of everyone across this installation for your individual contributions to the 2007 HSI."
