Airmen behind the scenes help make it happen at the MDG Published June 21, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Nathan W. Lipscomb 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- In all great organizations there are always remarkable people working in the background to guarantee success. The 39th Medical Group is no exception with their own outstanding Airmen working behind the scenes to ensure medical support success. These Airmen process paperwork, provide customer service, make sure the 39th MDG has the equipment and supplies it needs to operate, maintain and repair equipment, as well as, many other tasks as the logistical support for the group. "Without us, Logistics, the Medical Group would not be operational; we provide ordering, and delivery of supplies daily," said Staff Sgt. Bruce Reno, noncommissioned Officer in Charge of medical equipment. "We all have a mission here but we certainly are the moving forces of the Medical Group." Sergeant Reno and his colleagues are responsible for ordering medical equipment such as defibrillators, sterilizing units, radiology equipment, and other supplies that keep the 39th MDG up and running. While Sergeant Reno makes sure the 39th MDG has up to date equipment, Airmen like Senior Airman Tony Hsu, 39th MDG Biomedical Equipment repair technician, ensures that all the sophisticated equipment used by the doctors and technicians is running like clock work. The Logistics crew definitely comes in handy at the 39th MDG but only one office in the unit is up to the challenge of maintaining patient's paperwork and files. The Commander's Support Staff makes sure that members fill out the proper paperwork to take leave, including Consecutive Overseas Tour and Environmental Morale Leave, as well as, updating member's duty status every time they go on any kind of Temporary Duty. "The most rewarding part of my job is seeing that smile on my customer's face after I've helped them," said Senior Airman Felicia Jackson, 39th MDG/CSS. "My duties consist of anything from making hospital badges and ration cards to counseling members on their next assignment." Though not in the lime light, these Airmen are ensuring freedom's future by providing Team Incirlik with the best health care available.
