39th CES changes commanders

Maj. Randy L. Boswell, recent graduate, Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., assumed command of the 39th Civil Engineer Squadron from Lt. Col. Scott Warner at 9 a.m. June 27 at the Fire Department Training Pit. Col. Jeffrey Hanson, 39th Mission Support Group commander, officiated the ceremony.

Major Boswell was commissioned into the Air Force in December 1992 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Missouri at Rolla and entered active duty in June 1993.

He received base-level experience as Chief of Site Development for air stations and radar sites across Alaska and as the Engineering Flight Commander at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Major Boswell received MAJCOM experience as a Military Construction Program Manger and as the Executive Officer in the Mission Support Directorate, Headquarters Air Force Space Command. He completed career broadening as a research and development engineer for space systems at Phillips laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. and as a Chief of Technical Engineering for Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo.

Major Boswell also has overseas and contingency experience as the Maintenance Engineer at Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea, the Mission Support Squadron Commander at Thule AB, Greenland, and as Officer-in-Charge of a 55-person Prime BEEF team at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
