Two commanders join ‘Lik’ medical team Published July 12, 2007 By Capt. Rose Richeson 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The 39th Medical Support and Medical Operations Squadrons were reactivated in an assumption of command ceremony here at the Consolidated Club Complex July 11. Lt. Col. Tracy Tenney assumed command of the 39th MDSS followed by Lt. Col. Ender Ozgul who assumed command of the 39th MDOS. "I'm extremely excited, actually thrilled, to stand before you today as we reactivate squadrons in the 39th Medical Group," said Col. Kimberly Cox, 39th MDG commander. "We are indeed going back to the future." Colonel Cox provided a brief chronology dating back to 2003 explaining the reason behind the reactivation. She also noted that the group/squadron organizational structure, which mirrors the traditional Air Force structure, will improve personnel and management functions while allowing the group to continue providing world-class medical support to Team Incirlik. As commander of the 39th MDSS, Colonel Tenney is responsible for the following organizations: TRICARE Office PRP Office Medical Logistics Laboratory Radiology Pharmacy Readiness Patient Administration Referral Management Center Aeromedical Evacuation Biomedical Equipment Repair Facility Management Medical Records Information Systems Commander's Support Staff Resources Management Office Central Appointment Desk As commander of the 39th MDOS, Colonel Ozgul is responsible for the following organizations: Dental Clinic Women's Health Clinic Immunization Clinic Surgical Services Flight Medicine Clinic Public Health Office Bioenvironmental Engineering Optometry Clinic Ambulance Services Ambulatory Procedure Unit Physical Therapy Clinic Health and Wellness Center Mental Health Clinic Family Advocacy Program Drug Demand Reduction Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program Treatment "Both are outstanding leaders," Colonel Cox said. "I know that they are certainly the right people for the job here in Turkey."
