The Youth Center here offers a wide assortment of instructional classes every Tuesday and Thursday ranging from gymnastics to martial arts. Each class is taught by a certified instructor and is certified by the National Association of Youth Sports.

All instructional classes are fee based and depend on what the instructor wants to charge. All instructors offer a one trail class for interested youth allowing them to see if they like it before paying.

The Youth Center is always looking for new instructors to pass on knowledge and skills to children at the base.

"Currently, the youth center is looking for instructors that have experience in dance and ballet," said Rose Lime, 39th Services Squadron, youth programs director. "All our instructors are persons that have PCS'd into Turkey and are willing to spend their time teaching children their gift."

A portion of the proceeds go to the instructor and a portion goes to the Youth Center to help with promoting the events throughout the year.

To become a member of the Youth Center stop by and fill out a membership form. The cost is $36 a year and special activities are offered to members at discounted prices. Membership is open to Active duty Air Force dependants, Turkish children and family members of Department of Defense civilians and retirees.

"I would also like to inform everyone of the many summer camps available from the Youth Center during the upcoming weeks. During the month of August we will have a Teen adventure camp and also a Trails adventure camp," said Ms. Lime.

To register for membership or for more information call the Youth Center at 676-6670.
