The Incirlik Fitness Center now offers a healthy alternative to eating as well as packing workout enthusiasts full of the essential daily vitamins and minerals in a convenient to-go cup.

The Elma Armut Fresh Fruit and Veggie Juice Bar opened in May and has recently added a few new items to the menu. Juice drinks can now also be used to wash down one of eight flavored tortilla wraps offered at the Incirlik location.

"A lot more people are trying the food, especially after the night games and working up an appetite," said Staff Sgt. Jesus Mendoza, 39th Services Squadron Fitness Center noncommissioned officer in charge.

From the Aegean to the turkey recipe, each wrap is packed with treats for a healthy diet and prepared as you order using fresh fruits and vegetables - a definite compliment to a refreshing drink mix.

The wraps and drinks sold at Elma Armut are made from 21 different mixes and 33 fruits and vegetables. In addition to juice mixes, customers can get one of four natural nutrition products that serve a variety of purposes.

The energy boost is a complete carbohydrate that provides long lasting energy and raises the performance level. Ginsing is the best natural medicine for stress, cholesterol and the immune system. The fat burner option contains carnitin, which increases weight loss by storing energy while burning fat. Lastly, the protein supplement is a key building block for muscle strength and will help fitness buffs endure a hard workout.

As Elma Armut settles into the cove downstairs in the fitness center, members may notice additions to the restaurant layout on top of an expanding menu.

"One of our current projects is to get a television added to create a lounge-style atmosphere for the customers," said Sergeant Mendoza.

While some are on the run with their to-go drinks and food specials, others can choose to relax in the lounge setting designed to aid in the rejuvenation process completing a workout.

Patrons can get their fill of at least two main food groups every Monday through Friday from
6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the juice bar hours of operation. At checkout time you'll receive a stamp card and with enough visits can earn your eighth juice for free.
