CDC supports mission by providing child care Published Sept. 6, 2007 By Staff Sgt. Chris Galindo 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- The Child Development Center is a critical component in childcare on Incirlik. For single parents, those who have loved ones deployed or those that just need childcare, the CDC can provide care for your children. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. The CDC is closed Saturday, Sunday and all federal holidays. "The CDC is just great, I can take my child early in the morning and still make it to morning PT or wing runs", said Staff Sgt. Carl Campbell, 39th Communications Squadron. "The staff, (which consists of military dependants), continually receives required training in Early Childhood classes in order to meet Air Force regulations and the National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation", said Ms. Bonita Jones, 39th Services Squadron CDC Director. The children that attend the CDC are dependants of military personnel, DOD employees, DoDDs employees and contractors. Children are afforded the opportunity to enhance social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. "These four areas of development teach children independence, self-help skills, communications and a sense of worth", said Ms. Jones. "You get to see the kids learn new activities and social skills, grow up both mentally and physically, and the children are always trying to impress their teachers and caregivers", said Tyrone Dukes, CDC Room Lead Technician.
