Action Line 070907 - Audio equipment issues at the gym Published Sept. 28, 2007 By Anonymous 39 Air Base Wing INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I'm concerned with the audio attachments on the equipment at the fitness center. I was there the other day and all but one of the audio attachments on the treadmills was not working. I asked about having them fixed before I deployed several months ago and now I have returned and nothing has been fixed. Response: Thank you for the feedback in regards to the audio attachments at the Fitness Center. We're glad you brought this up as equipment is just one piece of the problem. To solve the equipment piece, the Fitness Center has 14 new Cardio Theater audio attachments on order in an effort to improve services. The second piece of the problem, however, is patrons adjusting the television sets. Often times, Cardio Theater and its audio attachments malfunction because patrons adjust the televisions. In an effort to prevent this, the Fitness Center is in the process of ordering covers that will go over the control panels. Along with its prescribed settings, Cardio Theater works best when television external speakers remain off and channels remain fixed. Power outages also reset the prescribed settings of the televisions, causing Cardio Theater to malfunction. The Fitness Center staff kindly requests that Fitness Center customers do not adjust the televisions to keep Cardio Theater functioning properly, and to notify them if the audio attachments or overall system malfunction, since the staff is trained on Cardio Theater repair and can sometimes reset the system on the spot.
