Once again, all Incirlik personnel are able to file their taxes on-line. To help with this process, the Tax Assistance Program is providing help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Instead of going to a traditional tax center, Airmen, their dependents, and Department of Defense civilians can prepare and file their returns free of charge from any Internet-connected computer," said Senior Airman Sara Wieneck, 39th Air Base Wing paralegal.

According to Airman Wieneck, preparing and filing taxes is a relatively easy process.

"Log on to www.militaryonesource.com, register, and click on the link to H&R Block's Tax Cut Basic software," she said. "This easy-to-use software guides users through a series of questions, and based on the
responses, automatically generates a tax return, which is then electronically filed."

The Tax Center opened for business Feb. 12, where Internal Revenue Service-trained volunteers are available to help individuals unable to complete their returns by themselves.

The volunteers will answer questions at the Airmen and Family Readiness Center from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

For those working irregular hours, volunteers are also available at the AFRC from 8 -10 a.m. Tuesdays and from 3 - 5 p.m. Thursdays.

Incirlik members may contact an H&R Block professional by calling Military One Source's toll-free phone number 1-800-342-9647.

"Military One Source has very helpful and knowledgeable operators who are available to help 24 - 7. They will ensure you get connected with H&R Block advisors," said Airman Wieneck. "These calls will not count against your monthly allotment of morale calls."
