Action Line 80104 - Music at the Bowling Alley

Complaint:

I was in the bowling alley a couple of weeks ago and the music that was playing, to me, wasn't appropriate. Limp Bizkit was playing in its unedited version for all to hear; plenty of lyrics with the "f" word in them. At the time, no children were in the bowling alley (it was 2200) but the music that was playing isn't going to be enjoyed by all patrons. As a place that's open to the public, I think the managers of the bowling alley should be more careful as to what is played for all to hear without crossing the censorship line. Regular mainstream music that everybody hears on the radio would be the appropriate type of music.

Response:

Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. I agree that some of today's music isn't appropriate for play in a public setting and while there may be a fine line between what is acceptable/popular and what is offensive, the example you cite is clearly over the line. As a result, we've asked the Bowling Center management to take greater care in selecting music so that this popular venue can be enjoyed by the community at large.

In the future, I invite you to voice similar concerns directly with the on-duty activity manager. You will find that these professionals are eager to address your concerns, and in many cases may solve the problem immediately. Additionally we would love to have your input on other aspects of the Bowling Center and other facilities and programs around the base.
